    Hello, I'm Dr. Qi Zhang, a passionate Instructor and Bridge Engineer with over 10 years of expertise.

    At V+M Structural Design, Inc., and as a teaching faculty at British Columbia Institute of Technology, I've dedicated my career to advancing the field of structural engineering, particularly in the realm of bridges.

    My journey has been marked by a deep commitment to education, both as a learner at prestigious institutions and as an educator, sharing my knowledge with the next generation of engineers.

    My skills in Structural Engineering, Finite Element Analysis, and Bridge Design are underpinned by a solid foundation in Abaqus and a history of impactful roles, from WSP Canada to my current position. My work has been recognized with awards such as the WSP Canada Transportation Awards for Emerging Professionals, showcasing my dedication to excellence.

    I've contributed significantly to the field with publications on topics like performance-based highway bridge design and seismic performance comparisons. Additionally, I'm actively involved in shaping the future of our industry as a member of the CSA Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code Subcommittee and as a voting member of the American Concrete Institute's Earthquake-Resistant Concrete Bridges Committee.
