Hello! I’m Percy Penafiel, P.E., currently serving as a Professional Engineer Specialist with the Nevada Department of Transportation in Carson City, NV. With over two decades of structural engineering experience, my career has been a testament to my passion and dedication to designing robust and reliable structures. My expertise spans the structural design of highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, and railroad bridges, as well as an array of drainage structures like culverts and channels.
My commitment to engineering excellence is evident in every aspect of my work, from supporting highway signs, luminaires, traffic signals, and toll gantries to addressing the complexities of portal tunnels, soil nail walls, and various retaining structures. With a solid foundation in both prestressed and post-tensioned concrete design, my approach combines detailed analytical skills with a practical understanding of material nonlinear and pushover analysis.
Educated at Universidad Ricardo Palma and the National University of Engineering, I am continually advancing my skills to contribute innovative solutions to the field. My journey is not just about the structures I help create but also about uplifting the profession through volunteering and guiding the next generation of engineers. Engaging, reliable, and deeply committed, I strive to ensure that every project not only meets but exceeds the highest standards of safety and functionality.
