Hello! I'm Alice Xu, currently thriving as a Senior Engineer at Arup. With over eight years of experience in the engineering world, I've developed a deep passion for civil structures design and project management. My journey started at The University of Auckland, where I earned a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours. Since then, I've been fortunate to work on some groundbreaking projects like the Auckland Light Rail, AMETI Eastern Busway, and the City Rail Link.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to grow and evolve, transitioning from a Graduate Structural Engineer at AECOM to my current role. My expertise in pedestrian and highway bridge design, full plate and grillage modelling, civil structures, wind design, and 3D modelling has been instrumental in these roles. But it's not just about the technical skills; I believe in making a difference. I'm actively involved in the Engineering New Zealand Auckland branch committee and support start-up companies with strategic planning and business growth.
My experience spans various regions, including New Zealand, Hong Kong SAR, and Malaysia, allowing me to bring a global perspective to my work. I'm particularly proud of my contributions to the Aukland Light Rail project during my secondment with Structural and Interface. These experiences have shaped me into not just an engineer, but a mentor and a leader in the field.
I'm always eager to share my knowledge and insights. Whether it's discussing engineering, technology, or business-related topics, I believe in the power of collaboration and knowledge sharing. Connect with me to dive deeper into my work or to explore how we can collaborate on your career, projects, or innovative ideas. Let's engineer a better future together!
